What should I do if I suspect fraud on my account?

Contact our fraud hotline immediately at +27 21 100 4879 (available 24/7). We'll freeze your account, investigate the suspicious activity, and issue new cards if needed. You have zero liability for unauthorized transactions reported promptly.

How do I enable two-factor authentication?

Log into online banking, go to Settings > Security > Two-Factor Authentication. You can choose SMS, email, or authenticator app verification. We recommend using an authenticator app like Google Authenticator for maximum security.

Is my money protected if the bank is hacked?

Yes. All customer deposits are protected up to R1 million per account under the South African Deposit Insurance scheme. Additionally, our fraud protection policy covers unauthorized transactions with zero liability for customers who report promptly.

How do I report a phishing email or scam?

Forward suspicious emails to phishing@dassenbank.co.za. For SMS scams, forward to 32110. You can also report through our mobile app under Help > Report Fraud. We investigate all reports and work with authorities to prosecute scammers.

Can I set transaction limits on my card?

Yes! Through online banking or our mobile app, you can set daily spending limits, disable international transactions, enable/disable online purchases, and set merchant category restrictions. You can also freeze/unfreeze your card instantly.

How often should I change my password?

We recommend changing your online banking password every 90 days. Our system will prompt you to change it every 6 months. If you suspect any compromise, change it immediately and enable two-factor authentication if not already active.
